Petersham was named by Lieutantant- Govenor Major Frances Grose after has native village on the Thames, near Richmond, England.
Petersham was one of the earlist settlements in the colony, & was a separate municipality from 1871 to 1949.

The prominent water tower on New Canterbury Rd was built in 1915 over the old water reservoir that was commissioned in 1888.

The tenant agrees with the landlord:

1) To maintain & leave the premises in a clean & tidy condition,in case of default a cleaning fee will be charged.

2) To replace any article of furniture, effect or fittings that may become damaged or lost during the period of tenancy or to pay the
owner the cost of repair or replacement.

3) Not to remove any of the furniture or effects from the premises.

4) No responsibility is taken for tenants personal property left or stolen.

5) That the tenant or any persons using the premises shall not be guilty of conduct which is a nuisance or annoyance to the ajoining neighbours.

6) The tenant agrees not to drive nails, screws or hooks into or in any way deface the walls of the premises.
